We are pleased to present our upcoming
Adelaide Fringe Show, Oblivious.

The one-hour comedy is a multimedia production based on
a short film co-written by Irene Previn and Alex Ruffin in
2006 after meeting at a mutual friend's 30th birthday.

A pact was made over copious glasses of wine to make a short
piece together. The two met on a weekly basis in the months
to follow and the film, Perceptive Persuasions was penned
and ready for production by the end of the year.

The busy pair had to park the project for several years until
they realised the piece’s incredible potential as a Fringe
multimedia production and the short film was adapted to
stage and screen for the 2011 Adelaide Fringe production,
renamed, Oblivious.

A professional actor for 14 years, Alex has appeared in
various TV commercials including Radio Rentals’ SA Team
series as the tough chick in the yellow tracksuit, and
The Bride in the Bank SA advertisement who gets snogged
by the groom’s best man – his brother. Alex holds a
British Certificate in Stage Combat Fighting –
a license to kick-ass!

An experienced art director, Irene’s travels have taken her
across the globe in search of quirky and entertaining material.
Two Bites of the Big Apple (2000) filmed in Manhattan captures
the contrasting styles of two of America’s leading contemporary
designers, Scott Santoro and Michael Beirut. These Fish are Lovely
(2006), filmed in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and London, reveals the
day-to-day life of displaced Africans on their chance of a lifetime
in the western world. Irene has written and performed her own
material for two years running in the Adelaide Art Director’s Club
comedy debate.
